  • Great read... a very honest and real account of the author's experience as the older sister of a child with severe disabilities. As a teacher it helped me understand the challenges of families in similar situations. I appreciate that she is very truthful about the sacrifices and trials but just as importantly writes of the joy and priceless contribution her brother brought to their lives. Parts of the book had me laughing, other parts crying. It reaffirmed my belief that every child has a purpose and gift to give. Living in a society with such a negative media culture, this book will leave you feeling uplifted that there are genuinely good people living among us, the humble unsung heros, whose entire lives are centered on kindness and love. Thank you Melinda Turner for sharing your story.
  • This sweet book should help anyone understand the importance of being kind to others, no matter how different they may be. We should all have the privilege of knowing and serving those who come to this life as “Special Need” individuals. They have so much to teach us. I am honored to know Danny-boy and am grateful my children have had the privilege of knowing him also.
  • Thank you, Melinda. You reminded me to be less judgemental, more accepting and compassionate. You're right, your parents are heroes, and so is the rest of your wonderful family.
  • Touching, funny, poignant, real-life account from the sister of a special needs child. Great story of the positive and negative experiences and what different members of the family gained from those experiences.
  • I read this book out loud to my tween boys. Sometimes we laughed; some parts were very tender. But they loved it, and I've read it 3 times now, so clearly, I love it. I think if everyone read it, we would all be better
    people.
  • As a Care Provider to disabled individuals, I related to so many of the experiences written about with Danny Boy. Thank you Melinda and family for sharing the raw, real experiences you've had with this choice son of God. What a beautiful life he's had. He has been an amazing teacher.
  • This book made me laugh, cry, and see things differently. Well worth every minute you read it, great book!
  • I just finished reading this book and loved it. What a poignant story. Danny Boy is such blessing to his family and all those whom his life has touched.
